The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has named Christian Barnes as the 2020 REALTOR® of the Year for the state of Kansas.
NAR describes the REALTOR® of the Year award, “Annually, each state REALTOR® association recognizes one member who has done exceptional work to advance their associations and the real estate industry with the REALTOR® of the Year award. These members epitomize what it means to be a REALTOR®.”
Epitomizing what it means to be a REALTOR® is not foreign to Barnes, who has one of the most decorated real estate careers in the industry. Growing up with parents who are both real estate agents, Barnes learned the best strategies to be successful from an early age. The Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® named her Newcomer of the Year in 2008, followed by REALTOR® of the Year in 2012. In 2016, she served as President of KCRAR which made her the youngest President in the organization’s history at that time.
Most recently, Barnes pioneered the BHGenius Training Platform, an interactive and extensive library of information for real estate professionals. Training resources increased over 200% in her tenure as Director of Career Development in 2020.
As the top female owner in the international Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate network, Barnes caps off a monumental year in 2020. She will continue raising the bar as the majority owner, President, and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Kansas City Homes. A position she took over in early November of 2020.
When asked what this award means to her, Barnes responded:
“In a word, humbling. I am honored and thankful to the incredible Realtors in the state of Kansas. The future is bright, and being named to this elite class of Realtors has me excited to lead the next generation of professionals.”
