Notable Parks in KCK
From the highway, Kansas City may seem very urban, but Kansas City and its surrounding communities are also home to a number of stunning parks and outdoor recreation areas you’ll definitely want to spend time in.
KAW Point Park is a beautiful park with historical significance. It's located near downtown KCK, at the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas Rivers. It sits on the exact spot where explorers Lewis & Clark set-up camp during their 1804 journey. KAW Point Park is home to several recreational, educational and historical amenities. It features the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail, wildflowers, wildlife and access to the river. It has an outdoor amphitheater and hosts performing arts events in the warmer months.
Rosedale Park in Kansas City, KS is the ideal spot whether you’re looking active recreation or somewhere to sit and enjoy a lovely day. The park spans 55 acres and provides plenty of room to enjoy a spirited game or a relaxing afternoon. Its facilities include lighted and unlighted softball fields, two lighted tennis courts, playground equipment, a skate park, grills, and picnic tables, a restroom, and two 18-hole disc golf courses.
Big Eleven Lake Park is 3.8 acres of a manmade fishing lake featuring picnic tables, and an amphitheater with electrical outlets. It is a great place for family outings and celebrations. Big 11 Lake is located between State Ave. and Washington Blvd. on N. 11th St. Park closes at 10:00 p.m.
